Who they are
Casey Askar
Business executive and U.S. Marine veteran, by his own account.2 We scored the nine issue sections on his current Home page, where the Issues link points.2 caseyaskar.com/issues returns a "404" error now; the only saved copy is an Internet Archive capture from 6/21/2021, left over from his earlier run, and it still says "Our nation is at war, this is a public health crisis and a national defense issue."3 That old page is not part of his current site, so it was not scored. His Home page lists news headlines about a gas-tax bill and renaming I-75; those are outside articles with no issue text on his site, so they were not scored.
Pia Dandiya
Educator, policy advocate and tech executive, by her own account.4 Her Priorities page has five headings; a Spanish version of the same page exists. Her Updates page is a news feed that reprints outside coverage, so it was not scored.4
Immigration and the border
Casey Askar
Immigration/Law Enforcement"We must continue to deport criminal illegal aliens and secure our borders, and all Points of Entry into the U.S." and "Merit-based America First immigration policy needs to be kept in place."2

The middle

Where they agree

  • Both name a ban on stock trading by members of Congress. Askar's site: "ban members of Congress from stock trading."2 Dandiya: "ban members of Congress from trading individual stocks."4
  • Both want lower costs. Askar's site: "Lowering the everyday cost of living should be at the top of everyone's list."2 Dandiya: "The cost of living must be lowered for every Floridian"4

Where they really split

  • Health care: Askar's site: "End Obamacare once and for all, and replace it with a vehicle that works for all Americans."2 Dandiya: "I will reverse Medicaid cuts so families, children, seniors, and people with disabilities can continue to get the care they need"4
  • Taxes and trade: Askar's site: "help slash overburdening taxes and regulations that are adding to the affordability crisis."2 Dandiya: "End illegal and costly tariffs so families aren't forced to pay higher prices for groceries, household goods, and everyday essentials."4
  • Education: Askar's site: "Parents should ultimately decide how to educate their children."2 Dandiya: "I support universal pre-K, so every child can have an equal head start."4

What each one leaves out

  • Askar's current Home page names a policy on five of nine sections (voter ID rules, deporting criminal illegal aliens, a stock-trading ban, required civics, replacing the Affordable Care Act). It says how on none, gives no costs or dates, and lists no vote or law he has passed.2
  • Dandiya's Priorities page names a policy on four of five headings (end tariffs, ban stock trading, reverse Medicaid cuts, universal pre-K). It says how on none and gives no costs or dates. Her school record is the only past action it states.4
